Randy Hansen

Randy Hansen is an American guitarist and Seattle native. He is best known for his “Rock Tribute Act” honoring the legendary Jimi Hendrix. He composed original music used on the soundtrack for the 1979 movie Apocalypse Now, which won the 1980 Academy Award for Best Sound. His debut album was released in 1980 on Capitol Records and was recorded at the Automatt Studios in San Francisco He can be found touring throughout the U.S. and Europe with his custom Randy Hansen Golden Phi Amp, specially designed and built by Don Mills. It goes to 12.

Randy loves the touch-sensitive response and the perfect tone in a manageable 18-watt package.

Like all our amps, dialing into a great basic tone will only be the beginning of the sonic tour. Adjust your guitar’s controls and instantly hear the amp respond. We minimize the components between your fingers and your ears!

Like all Golden Phi amps, this gem is hand-built using only the highest quality materials and vintage components available. From cloth-wrapped wire to premium transformers and capacitors, our amps are built to last generations just like its predecessors.
