The Gold Standard lays out the same Western Electric schematic that resulted in the 1959 Bassman and the Marshall JTM 45. The Gold Standard is named for that standard of tonal richness, height and depth, breadth and width, which acknowledges the sound that defined rock and roll, blues and funk--but never disco. It is the standard against which all guitar tone is measured, and will be forever measured.
